Biography

Tom Yi, DO, is board certified in family medicine. Dr. Yi earned his medical degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. He completed his internship at Bi-County Community Hospital in Michigan, and his residency at University of Southern California. Dr. Yi earned his bachelor's degrees in biological science and psychology, with a minor in ethics philosophy, from UC Irvine. Dr. Yi also performs Osteopathic Manipulative Treatments, is a clinical instructor of family medicine at University of Southern California, and is a published author of "The Practical Patient," an easy to read guide for patients about selecting their doctor and ensuring that they receive the most up-to-date and appropriate medical care possible. He believes in patient education, partnership with patients, and prevention of illness as the core of good healthcare. Dr. Yi feels that earning a patient's trust and respect is the most satisfying aspect of practicing medicine. In addition to English, Dr Yi speaks medical Spanish.
