Julio Hernandez Rodriguez, MD

Julio Ivan Alexander Hernandez Rodriguez, MD, is board certified in family medicine. Dr. Hernandez earned his medical degree from Dr. Jose Matias Delgado University in El Salvador. He completed his internship and residency at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in New York. Dr. Hernandez takes pride in being a good listener and believes in the power of empathy. Rather than dictating care, he prefers coming up with joint solutions with his patients. His biggest clinical interest is in LGBTQ+ health and equitable access to health care. In his spare time, Dr. Hernandez enjoys traveling. Prior to joining the Optum family, he visited 11 countries in three years. He loves to be in nature and to go on hikes. He has even climbed the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. In addition to English, Dr. Hernandez speaks fluent Spanish.
